2 We pray Thee, grant us strength to take 4 And day by day, 0 Lord, we ask Our daily cross, whate'er it be, That holy memories of Thy cross
And gladly for Thine own dear sake May sanctify each common task, • In paths of pain to follow Thee. And turn to gain each earthly loss. |

I 3 As on our daily way we go,
Through light or shade, in calm or strife, I Oh, may we bear Thy marks below
In conquered sin and chastened life. |
5 Grant us, dear Lord, our cross to bear Till at Thy feet we lay it down,
Win through Thy blood our pardon .there, And through the cross attain the crown. |

2 Have we no tears to shed for Him, While soldiers scoff and Jews deride? Ah, look how patiently He hangs; Jesus, our Lord, is crucified.
t A broken heart, a fount of tears Ask, and they will not be denied; |
Lord Jesus, may we love and weep, Since Thou for us art crucified.
4 O love of God! O sin of man!
In this dread act your strength is tried; And victory remains with love; For Thou, our Lord, art crucified!
